Role Overview

This role will be responsible for overseeing the administration of our clients’ bus service contracts and providing advice, or managing the procurement of external legal advice, on a wide range of matters relevant to our client. It will also focus on further expanding and strengthening the existing relationships that relate to our clients’ current and future operations, including identifying and engaging with stakeholders to understand how the organisation can deliver the best outcomes to all involved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the primary day to day point of contact for TfNSW:
  • Lead monthly contract meetings with TfNSW
  • Be the primary support to the lead on the quarterly executive contract meetings with TfNSW
  • Lead the production of contract reports, including regularly reviewing and reporting to key stakeholders to inform and support decision making at a local and national level.
  • Systematic management of the current contractual obligations, issues and opportunities, working with key SME’s and the leadership team
  • Be the primary support for the leadership team in resolving key contractual issues that arise from time to time:
  • Act as the key point of contact between the COO and relevant SME(’s) to scope the issue and determine baseline situation
  • Work with the COO and relevant SME(‘s) contact to develop a plan for resolution
  • Support/Lead engagement with client-side project team to resolve contractual issues
  • Lead by example, developing a sound understanding of our clients’ history, Vision, Mission, BHAG and Core Values and focus on continuous improvement and achieving results.
  • Manage and support your direct reports in accordance to our clients’ People Management Framework.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with staff and build collaborative relationships between teams.  
  • Build and develop people by providing opportunities to diversify their skills and progress within the company.
  • Establish the following regular meetings / working groups / committees / inspections and attend as required: Weekly meeting with your direct reports / Other ad-hoc meetings as required

Experience and Skills Required

  • Past experience or understanding of client service contract management
  • Preferable for prior experience or exposure to public transport/bus operator
  • Commerce and/or legal qualifications reflective of a leadership role of this importance
  • Strong written communication skills – for informal and formal reporting and engagement
  • Strong verbal communication / client engagement skills – required for regularly leading client meetings and key contractual discussions
