Contract Manager - Transport Operator

Our client is one of the largest public transports operators, providing services across Australia. They have developed a passionate and engaging brand in the transport sector and are one of the most well-known passenger transport operators in New South Wales. 

About the role 

This is an exciting opportunity for a Contract Manager in New South Wales, who is interested in managing the day-to-day contract requirements and reporting on contractual KPI and monthly operator reports for our client’s Outcomes Department. You are expected to support the growth of our client’s operations and achieve the vision of being Australia's leading public transport company.  

This is a new role reports to the Client Outcomes and Strategic Projects Manager, covering: 

  • Oversight of the administration and management of the bus service contracts in NSW
  • Management of reporting obligations in line with contract requirements
  • Management of engagement activities with transport agencies
  • Support our client’s vision to be a solution focussed operator

Role responsibilities: 

Contract management and reporting 

  • Oversee a team of contract administrators to ensure the efficient management of the Busways contractual reporting obligations
  • Lead the production and coordination of monthly reports, and work with the Executive Writer on quarterly reporting 
    Working with the Client Outcomes and Strategic Projects Manager in articulating and documenting processes for the Contract Administration team
  • Oversight of the alignment, implementation and roll-out of the Contract Administration team's yearly goals 
    Support the Client Outcomes and Strategic Projects Manager, and the Leadership team in periodic meetings with Transport for NSW 
  • Developing and contributing to strategic projects 

Client relationships 

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key client contacts across various divisions
  • Manage internal workstream meetings to support reporting and requests from the client
  • Support the overall approach to engagement with clients to better understand how the organisation can deliver the best outcomes to all stakeholders. 

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • 5+ years in an equivalent contracts role, or 8+ years in the service provider contract management space (an understanding of the public transport bus service industry is beneficial)
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams
  • Strong writing and document management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to plan, prioritise and successfully deliver projects on time
  • Strong ability to analyse and present data
  • Advanced, practical knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite
  • NSW drivers' licence
  • Permanent Residency or Australian Citizenship
