You will lead the Victorian Project, Programme & Commercial Management division for this highly regarded engineering and advisory consulting firm. The team is currently made up of an impressive team of ten project/programme managers and ten project controls and cost management professionals. They have worked on many internationally recognised projects and are currently involved in delivering some of the most high profile transport and urban infrastructure projects in the region.

The organisation is uniquely placed to expand their service offering with a mix of internal and external project opportunities. The main focus and capabilities of the PPCM group lie in the project development phase with the team being able to provide unique value from early-stage business case through to the point of construction. Prior knowledge and experience in this phase is therefore key.

The successful applicant will;

  1. be responsible for leading the existing team/division. This will include managing current workload and future pipeline. Ensuring the team feel engaged, are being given opportunities to develop their capabilities, and that new skills and capabilities are brought in to strengthen and diversify the service offering.
  2. develop 'internal client' relationships with other divisional leaders and key executive stakeholders. There is an opportunity to build greater awareness and awareness within the organisation of the value your team can provide. The majority of existing work comes via internal clients and there is significant scope to grow this in addition to direct engagements.
  3. position the PPCM for future direct engagements with end clients, building rapport and 'trusted advisor' status by leveraging the current reputation, relationships of the organisation, as well as utilising your own market knowledge and track record.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has a background in project and programme management of major civil, social or urban infrastructure projects who is keen to step out of their day to day hands-on role and into a leadership position. The role will combine internal services, advice and guidance for projects within the vertical markets of the organisation (maritime, property, rail, road, environmental etc) as well as provide teams and services direct to end clients (like state government).
